Collection Spotlight: Charmed Circle’s Whimsical Silver Jewelry Designs

When I met Gina Cartwright of Charmed Circle from Houston and saw her lighthearted looks at a press preview in New York City over the summer, it was difficult to contain my delight. After all, I can’t resist the combination of whimsy and function in a jewel, and her pieces had both. Time capsule necklaces contain tiny paper scrolls bearing private messages for wearers; address book charms bear tiny refillable paper pages for handwritten notes; and impressively detailed charms in the forms of chandeliers, birdcages housing feathered friends, rattles with loose pink or blue gems, and a variety of Love Letter styles allow personalized and sentimental gifting options for the uber-thoughtful. Meanwhile, Hermès-inspired rings nod to a classic look—the brand’s pyramid bracelet—without taking an inordinate amount of unattributed (Cartwright flat-out credits the French label) inspiration. Rich in charms and over-the-top cute looks, the line is hard to resist, and boasts easy-to-attain price points thanks to its medium of silver.
