Coachella 2018 Jewelry Watch: Gold and Layers

The Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival, which wrapped up its two-weekend rash of concerts, parties, and swag events on April 22, always brings out young girls and celebrities turned out in quirky fashion displays that trend watchers have followed for years. This year, a running festival theme was crop tops, crochet anything, retro flared jeans and, surprisingly, a rash of belt bags and fanny packs.

The jewelry is not necessarily about precious stones or metals but nevertheless could give the fine world trends to keep an eye on. We saw plenty of gold everything, including hoop earrings, body chains, lariats, and piles of delicate layered necklaces with signet discs, crescent moons, and evil eyes.

Online retailer Revolve sponsored one event last weekend, outfitted numerous celebrities in clothes and jewelry, and turned it into an Instagram and shoppable moment. Post festival, the retailer is promoting best sellers, including a star choker set, interlocking hoop earrings, and a five-disc choker.

Hailey Baldwin chose to wear everything from silver layered necklaces and stacked rings to gold hoops and delicate gold chain necklaces with tiny pendants. Bella Hadid wore a delicate body chain with layers of delicate gold necklaces. Her sister Gigi Hadid also sported layers of necklaces, body chains along with safety-pin earrings. Danielle Lombard chose red tassel earrings, while Nyané® Lebajoa wore a silver star lariat. Helen Owen also chose gold layered chokers over the top of a gold chain lariat. Tribal themes abounded with Victoria Justice, Beyoncé, and Shanina Shaik donning Native American–, African-, and Indian-inspired pieces.
