Christopher J. Baldwin Named President, COO of BJ’s Wholesale Club

BJ’s Wholesale Club has appointed Christopher J. Baldwin its president and chief operating officer.

Baldwin was most recently the CEO of Hess Retail Corp., which operates 1,300 convenience stores on the East Coast. He has also held executive roles at Kraft Foods (Nabisco), Hershey Co., and Procter & Gamble.

“I am very excited to welcome Chris to the BJ’s team,” said BJ’s CEO, Laura Sen. “Chris’s record of excellence in leading large and successful organizations in the retail and consumer sectors will help us to build upon BJ’s strong heritage of offering a distinctive shopping experience and deep value proposition to BJ’s millions of loyal members.”

BJ’s, based in Westborough, Mass., operates 208 warehouse clubs in 15 eastern states. The stores carry more than 7,000 items, including jewelry.
