You may be one step closer to becoming a Rockefeller. Jewelry from the family’s private collection will be featured in Christie’s highly anticipated Magnificent Jewels sale on Dec. 10, part of the auction house’s Luxury Week in New York.
The centerpiece of the sale is the 18 ct. Rockefeller Kashmir sapphire ring (pictured at top), carrying an estimate between $1.5 million and $2.5 million. Kashmir sapphires are coveted and celebrated for their velvety cornflower hue and natural fluorescence. This 18 ct. stone is a sugarloaf cabochon, set in an art deco ring accented with diamonds, a piece of exceptional pedigree as well as balanced proportions and old-world craftsmanship.
Other Rockefeller jewelry highlights are a Cartier art deco emerald and diamond bracelet, a colorful pair of parrot brooches (with diamond heads) by Raymond Yard, and a Cartier diamond wristwatch.

The Rockefeller lots in Christie’s auction are drawn from the estate of Sandra Ferry Rockefeller (1935–2024), daughter of John D. Rockefeller III. Artworks and Asian antiquities from the Rockefeller collection are in multiple Christie’s sales this fall and winter. “This remarkable offering reflects a distinct chapter in the Rockefeller family’s storied collecting legacy,” the auction house said in a statement.

Curated with the same discernment that have informed the Rockefellers’ philanthropic and cultural vision, the jewelry to be auctioned next month echoes the spirit that shaped institutions like New York’s Museum of Modern Art and expresses the family’s longstanding appreciation for artistry across mediums.

Proceeds from Christie’s sales of the Rockefeller collection will benefit the Sandra Ferry Rockefeller Foundation, which supports programs that empower youth from diverse backgrounds to realize their creative and social potential.
