Max Fawcett (left), who’s worked at Christie’s for the last decade, has been appointed its new global head of jewelry, beginning Jan. 1, 2026.
He will take over from Rahul Kadakia, who was recently named president of Christie’s Asia Pacific region, and will be based at the auction house’s offices in Geneva.
Fawcett most recently served as Christie’s head of jewelry for Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. He began his career, in Munich, as an apprentice with antique jeweler Ernst Färber.
In addition, Christie’s has promoted Claibourne Poindexter to head of the jewelry department for the Americas. He will also begin his new position on Jan. 1.

Poindexter has been Christie’s senior vice president and senior specialist for the jewelry department. In his new role, he will focus on growth and client engagement.
