Chatelain to Speak in India

Liz Chatelain of MVI Marketing will present a lecture on the state of the U.S. major retailers in Mumbai to an audience of rough and loose diamond companies, as well as finished jewelry manufacturers and industry VIPs.
“They are worried about the current U.S. retail market and what the future will bring,” Chatelain said. “They are hearing a lot of bad news from the States about retailing and with the weak dollar they lose money with every U.S. order.”
Topics to be addressed will include the shift of luxury spend away from fine jewelry, the U.S. economy, and retailer consolidation.
“I have received comments from major jewelry retailers on what they believe the future will hold for themselves and the industry, overall, and I welcome more input from the U.S. retail market on what they would like to share with the Indian suppliers,” Chatelain said. “After the event, I am sure I will be coming back to the U.S. with an earful from the Indian side of the market to share with the retail community.”
The lecture will be held in Mumbai at the Le Royal Meridien Hotel on Jan. 22, and is sponsored by the Indo Argyle Diamond Council. For more information, contact Melina Trujillo at mtrujillo@mvimarketing.com or (805) 239-2994 ext. 103.
