Celebrities sparkle in jewelry at American Idol and Promax events

At two recent events, celebrities received jewelry from a Beverly Hills jeweler and a New York City-based jewelry designer.

During the recently held American Idol finals in Los Angeles, finalists and judges received jewelry from XIV Karats Ltd., Beverly Hills.

American Idol winner Fantasia Barrino wore gemstone chandelier earrings for the first of her two final performances followed by an eight-ct. Peridot ring the next night. Second place finalist Diana DeGarmo wore a diamond lariat necklace for her first performance followed by diamond lacework bracelet for her second performance.

In addition, the jeweler gave all 12 finalists “Great Xpectations,” a unique white gold and pave set diamond star with a 14k yellow gold cutout with. A “Triple Pave Star” was given to the judges Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, and Simon Cowell. At the Promax Conference at New York Hilton and Towers, the television industry’s leading gathering of TV promotion and marketing executives, guest speakers received Magally Lopez jewelry, based in New York City.

Donald Trump, Barbara Walters, Judith McGrath (president of MTV), Brian Williams (NBC News), Geraldine Laybourne (CEO of Oxygen Network), Dominick Dunne (Vanity Fair), Stuart Elliott (New York Times), and David Hill (president of Fox Sports) were among the speakers receiving Magally Lopez’s handcrafted sterling silver and 18k gold jewelry, which uses various precious and semi-precious stones and pearls.

The Promax event was held June 24 and 25 at the New York Hilton and Towers. The conference features keynote addresses from the TV personalities and executives who determine what appears on TV and is hosted by Promax (the association of promotion and marketing professionals in electronic media).

At both events, celebrities were thanked for their time and talent by being given the opportunity to select specific gifts from product lines being offered by participating donor companies. They received their gifts at a “Talent Retreat” area provided by Backstage Creations, Santa Monica, Calif., specialists in award show gifts and custom backstage areas.
