During the slow days of summer, Cathy Calhoun, owner of
Calhoun Jewelers, will be getting 2,000-plus estate jewelry pieces ready for
her annual estate sale, this year held in September (these sales are usually held
on the Wednesday before Mother’s Day).
Calhoun has identified her fall estate sale top 10 favorite
pieces, the jewelry items that when sold will be heartbreakers for the
Royersford, Pa.–based retail jewelry store owner.
In a two-part Retail Details blog, Calhoun will discuss the
history behind her top 10 favorites, what she likes most about each, and their
suggested retail prices. In true David Letterman style, the countdown will
start at 10.
Cathy Calhoun is the owner Calhoun Jewelers and
the current president of the American Gem Society (AGS). She is recognized in
the industry as a leading authority on estate and period jewelry and speaks on
the subject at industry events. She has also made many appearances on The Antique Roadshow as a jewelry
appraiser.
