JCK reached out to LUXURY Privé
show exhibitor and mega-brand Hearts On Fire to see what it was
bringing to the show. And in a Q&A interview, vice president of marketing Caryl Capeci walked JCK through some of the
diamantaire’s best sellers and its recent
design direction.
JCK: What is the
design inspiration for HOF’s newest pieces, jewelry unveiled in 2011 at the
Couture show?
Caryl Capeci: The
inspiration for our designs has always been to let our perfectly cut diamonds
be the “star” of each piece of jewelry with the precious metals used only
as a backdrop or stage for the diamond’s beauty and performance. The inspiration
for the new designs in the Hearts On Fire collection was to incorporate design
elements of everyday life. Layering by mixing textures and metal
continues to be on trend and the latest Hearts On Fire pendant and necklace
designs look great worn together in multiples of three or four.
JCK: What is
Hearts On Fire’s bread-and-butter product?
CC: Pendants like
Fulfillment and Beloved, a variety of stud designs (with 0.50 ct. t.w. and 1
ct. t.w. being the most popular sizes) and the 1 ct. t.w. three-stone ring.
Also, hoops are very popular in all sizes.
JCK: What is
HOF’s average ticket?
CC: Our average
price for jewelry is approximately $3,600 across all of our categories (except
engagement rings). The average price for our engagement rings is about $7,000,
but the shift to sell more complete diamond engagement rings—HOF diamond set
in a HOF mounting—is driving up that average price. The Dream Transcend
engagement ring is the single most successful engagement ring in the company’s
history. Due to its success, we recently launched a version of Transcend using
the Round Hearts On Fire diamond in the center.
JCK: What is the
starting retail price of HOF jewelry, in 18k gold?
CC: Our My 1st Pendant collection starts at $795.
