Photographer Todd Selby, based in New York City, recently debuted a limited-edition line of camera add-ons under his new accessories firm Selbz. In an interview with Slate.com, Selby explains that he wanted to jazz up the space on the camera where a flash typically resides.
“The idea of the camera jewelry came about as I haven’t used a flash in over five years and thought there must be another way to bling out that ugly slot on my camera other than with a flash,” he said.
Selby enlisted onetime colleague and crystal expert William Eadon to help choose the right gemstones for the pieces, which are now available for wholesale purchase—and for sale to consumers at Colette in Paris, United Arrows in Tokyo at the merchant’s Harajuku for Men, MAC in San Francisco, and Alchemist in Miami.Follow JCK on Instagram: @jckmagazine
