Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors Appoints VP

Robert L. Grant, a 40-plus-year veteran of the jewelry industry, has been named VP-merchandising and marketing for Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors.

Grant, a resident of West Bloomfield, Mich., will direct retail and wholesale liquidation sales, turnaround consulting assignments, inventory appraisals for asset-based lenders, as well as marketing and vendor relationships for the division of Agoura Hills-based Buxbaum Group. He will primarily handle projects in areas east of the Rocky Mountains, while vice president Gary Jorgensen will focus on areas west of the Rockies.

Grant began in the industry during the 1960s as a teenager, helping out in his family’s retail store, T.H. Grant, Inc.., in Farmington Hills, Mich. When T.H. Grant closed its doors in 1986, Grant went to work for the firm that directed the going-out-of-business sale, launching a career in jewelry liquidations. Over the course of his career, he supervised going-out-of-business sales at such chains as Friedman’s, Kmart and regional retailer J Mark Jewelers.
