Christie’s London held an Important Jewels auction on June 4 that raised $13,597,721.
The top seller was a rare enamel and diamond snake watch by Bulgari, which sold for $1,107,038—a record price for a Bulgari snake watch at auction.
Other notable sales:
• A fancy brown-yellow 18.27 ct., VVS1 clarity diamond bracelet by Bulgari for $645,842.
• A pear-shape D-color, IF clarity, 5.01 ct. diamond ring for $365,114.
• An early 20th-century cushion-cut 4.6 ct. Kashmir sapphire and diamond bar brooch for $304,958.
“The Important Jewels sale in London demonstrated that once again the appetite for good-quality period and signed jewels is unabated, with competitive bidding from every continent,” said Keith Penton, head of the London jewelry department, in a statement.
