Buccellati Celebrates 60 Years in U.S. With a Pendant Earring Collection

If you’re already accustomed to drooling over Buccellati Italian jewels, dress appropriately—perhaps in a bib necklace—to view their latest works of art. For the brand’s 60th Anniversary Pendant Earrings collection, the centuries-old Italian jewelry house reveals some of its best looks yet in a 60-piece, one-of-a-kind jewelry collection to mark six decades of sales in the United States.

Two-tiered earrings in Buccellati’s signature honeycomb styling are bejeweled with tanzanite and ruby center stones hand-chiseled with leaves and flowers, while textured gold and platinum metal surfaces are painstakingly sculpted into airy fleur di lis patterns, further illuminated by diamonds. Like miniature chandeliers, each pair provides a brilliant source of illumination. But why just earrings? Family patriarch Gianmaria Buccellati explains:

“There is nothing better than designing a pair of pendant earrings,” he told the press upon the collection’s debut. “The beauty of the female face and the sense of elegance that pendant earrings create inspire my designs.”

In fact, Gianmaria is responsible for most of the designs, all of which have been in the works for three years, a brand spokesperson told JCK on Wednesday afternoon in Buccellati’s Madison Avenue boutique. But get there fast, as the earrings will only be there for another week. After that, they’ll migrate south to Palm Beach and a few other tony locales before returning to Manhattan in time for Christmas.
