Welcome to Britt’s Pick, a weekly feature on my blog, On Your Market. Each Tuesday, I’ll select an eye-catching piece from JCK Marketplace and tell you a bit about it. Of course, with jewels this beautiful, the pictures do most of the talking.

I fell in love with Susan Wheeler’s pendant the moment I caught a glimpse of her Primordial collection. Maybe it’s the free-form heart shape, or the luminous center opal, glittering with its multiple hues and pavé-set diamond accent border. The piece is further distinguished by the designer’s signature River Wash texture, adding an earthy, organic touch. I’m also a sucker for a pendant on a dedicated chain; something about its static nature makes it a bit more formal—though I can imagine putting on this beauty with an LBD or jeans. Forget the old wives’ tales about opals. (The superstitious say it’s bad luck to wear one if it’s not your birthstone.) If you ask me, I’d say this piece is totally worth taking the chance. With this beauty around your neck, how could you ever be unlucky?
