Britt’s Pick: Sorellina’s High Priestess Tarot Card Necklace

Share

This is not the first time I’ve been awestruck by one of Sorellina’s tarot card jewels, but its latest, the High Priestess—La Papessa—is the one I love the most (so far).

Depicting a wise owl situated between pillars of dark and light, the High Priestess card symbolizes the knowledge one already possesses, a reminder to trust your instincts and look inward for the answers you might seek.

The use of angelite, a gemstone said to improve spiritual awareness, is new for Sorellina, and is the reason for the absolutely heavenly blue background that provides the backdrop for the 18k yellow gold owl.

“We’ve always been intrigued by the High Priestess card. For our interpretation we chose to use an owl, a symbol of wisdom and intuition, because we felt it was something many people could connect with,” says Nicole Carosella, cofounder and designer of Sorellina. “This card is special because it features angelite, a stone we’ve never worked with before, but is said to have beautiful, soothing energy. The stone itself and overall color of the card invites you to look inward and reflect in a calm and gentle way.”

In addition to a range of card pendants—most of which are priced just under $20,000—Sorellina’s Tarot collection offers a number of accompanying pieces, for lovers of necromancy or just gorgeous jewels. For the High Priestess, the companion piece is an owl charm, featuring a carved aquamarine body, diamond eyes, and smaller diamond accents. Worn together, the La Papessa card and owl pendants make for an incredible duo (apart, they’re just as compelling).

“We always want people to have fun within the world of Sorellina,” says Carosella. “These two pieces have such different silhouettes, so they can absolutely be worn together. Our Tarot collection offers pieces in different sizes, shapes, and price points for customers to collect.”
