Britt’s Pick: Picchiotti’s Tsavorite and Diamond Rose Necklace

This past weekend has left me feeling absolutely invigorated, as if I’d attended some sort of spectacular event—when, really, not much happened at all (don’t you love weekends like that?). It was a perfect combination of spring weather and at-home entertainment that rejuvenated my bones and prepped me for a glorious week ahead.

Ah, spring! The flowers are in full bloom, the birds were going bananas with song, the bees were buzzing, the sun was shining. What is it about the weather that can suddenly give you a new lease on life? It’s incredible—nothing really compares.

My comfortable, springy evenings were spent (sans blasting heat and toasty blankets) watching Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour film, which recently made its debut on Disney+. If you haven’t seen it, let me just say that I don’t think you need to consider yourself a Swiftie to appreciate the pure pageantry and talent of this show—holy cow. I won’t spoil it, but there’s this part with a snake that makes you go, How did they do that?! I was so riveted, I found it difficult to settle down and go to bed afterward. Just unbelievable.

So I’m taking the amped-up feeling this weekend left me with and carrying it through the week ahead because—whomp whomp—our false spring has come and gone, leaving in its wake cold temperatures that feel even worse than before, probably because we got a taste of warmth in comparison.

Also revitalizing? Jewels, especially the sight of really good ones, such as all things from the reliably hypnotizing Picchiotti. This week I was particularly struck by this Picchiotti rose necklace because (1) I’ve been on a major statement flower kick lately, and (2) it’s a collar, though I think intended as more vine-like. It reminds me of the aforementioned snake that feels permanently coiled inside my mind.

The luscious green from the necklace’s botanical design comes from just under 35 carats of tsavorite, so springy and gorgeous and promising of the season’s eventual true arrival. Follow the stem, artfully decorated with diamond-dotted thorns, to reach an all-diamond rose, forever in bloom no matter the weather. It’s a piece worthy of red carpets, but I just want to wear it in the sun.

Or maybe to the next Taylor Swift concert.

Top: Rose necklace in 18k white and yellow gold with 34.59 cts. t.w. tsavorite and 11.82 cts. t.w. diamonds, price on request; Picchiotti
