Britt’s Pick: Pastel Mariner Bracelet by Jenna Blake

As I sit in my home surrounded by snow, I’m calling it—I can officially wait no longer for spring. Of course, wait is exactly what I’ll have to do, but it’s not going to be easy.

This year presents a new set of challenges for escaping the winter. It used to be you could maybe, possibly be fortunate enough to get a few days in a warmer locale, squeezing white winter flesh into unseasonably summery attire, just to absorb even an ounce of that carefree sunshine. The pandemic has made it so that most of us won’t be jetting off anywhere anytime soon, so the only option is to break out those summery silhouettes and crank up the heat, sweating in our own faux-tropical living rooms (just try not to think about what the gas bill will look like in the month ahead).

There’s also the internet escape—shopping, naturally. Retailers are starting to tease their resort wear, and you don’t need to have anywhere to go and show it off to make a purchase that makes you happy. That especially, more than ever, goes for jewelry.

I think all jewelry can be worn any time of year for any occasion, because that’s the glory of our favorite accessories. But there are those pieces that feel particularly suited to certain times of year. One of those is the pastel Mariner link bracelet from Jenna Blake, a sign of spring in the most deliciously colorful way.

Five carved gemstone links in spring- and summer-ready colors align in this oversize piece that mixes everyday wearability with “Gasp! Where did you get that?” appeal. I love how this bracelet is a statement without being the kind that you wear once and put away—it’s got that low-key, wear-it-daily feel we’ve been clinging to over the last year.

Its fine-jewelry factor is upped with a smattering of diamonds that link each turquoise, chalcedony, or chrysoprase piece together, in a yellow gold that’s the gilded icing on this candied concoction.
