It’s never shocking when I find a new Omi Privé piece to drool over, but this one feels a bit different from Britt’s Picks of the past. Maybe because there’s somewhat of a vintage vibe to what are ordinarily very modern pieces. Perhaps it’s due to the elegant simplicity of the ring—though I’d hesitate to call anything from Omi simple.
I love its surrounding sapphires, which remind me of one of those antique frames, like the ones that hold the wedding photos of your long-ago relatives. The centerpiece, of course, is exquisite: a 9-ct. royal blue moonstone in the most mesmerizing shade. The blackened metal detail provides a further hint of contemporary, as do the pear-shape diamond side stones, though it somehow all seems to fit together seamlessly. Just another favorite masterpiece from everyone’s favorite gemstone wizard.
