Welcome to Britt’s Pick, a weekly feature on my blog, On Your Market. Each Tuesday, I’ll select an eye-catching piece from JCK Marketplace and tell you a bit about it. Of course, with jewels this beautiful, the pictures do most of the talking.
It’s 2013, the year of emerald! Thanks to Pantone and its highly regarded color reports, the jewelry industry is rejoicing in emerald, christened the 2013 Color of the Year. So, for my first pick of 2013, I’ve chosen this loose 6.55 ct. emerald from Muzo Worldwide. The stone, which came from a 10.06 ct. rough emerald, was mined in Muzo, Colombia, and cut in the company’s Bogotá workshop. I’d love to see it just as it is, set in a cagelike pendant of high-polished 18k white gold or platinum and hanging from a long chain. How would you style it?
