The transitional must-have for the season and beyond
Turquoise is all but synonymous with summer (at least, that’s what I think), so it may seem odd to select this piece to feature given the time of year. But this iteration of Marcel Roelofs‘ Vario clasp has autumn written all over it, and it’s the perfect transitional design as we float into fall, combating the rollercoaster temperatures and struggling with how to dress to stay cool, warm, and cool again. This look, instead of evoking the cool blues of the tropics, appears warm: Though the clasp is mostly set in stainless steel, it’s artfully brushed with 18k yellow gold, complementing the natural striations of the turquoise. Paired with the mesh necklace (which is stainless steel plated in 18k gold), the look is amplified. I can see this adding boho flair to the free-flowing looks of an Indian summer or giving that perfect pop of color to an all-black ensemble—just what’s needed when the bright clothing of summer becomes but a memory. Don’t forget to notice the diamonds: Set in platinum and tracing the curves of this teardrop-shape clasp along one side, the stones add a certain sophistication that take this piece from pretty to polished. Oh, and get this: Since it’s a part of Marcel Roelofs’ clasp collection, it can be placed on a variety of necklaces, from differently finished mesh and nylon to strands of pearls and gemstones. It really is the jewelry gift that keeps on giving.
