Britt’s Pick: Joshua J’s Cushion-Cut Sapphire Ring

I just got back from a week at Walt Disney World, where you couldn’t forget Christmas is coming if you tried. Literally every corner of the massive resort is decked out in bright lights, garland—the works (fun fact: There are 1,500+ Christmas trees on Disney property during the holidays). So yeah, I guess you could say I’m in the spirit now. With that said, I’m craving one fabulous jewel that would set off every ensemble that the season calls for—from cocktail party dresses to black-tie gala attire and every cozy sweater or flannel in between. I’ve focused on Joshua J‘s amazing ring for a couple of reasons. The most obvious: a 12.47 ct. cushion-cut Burmese sapphire center stone in a quenching shade of blue that would match everything. But I also find the step-like sides, featuring Old Euro-cut diamonds, to be particularly festive—something about an Art Deco style always says “holidays” to me. While the one-of-a-kind piece is certainly not an impulse buy, it’s one that is guaranteed to get tons of wear way past the holiday season—in fact, I’d bet this is one of those that will be passed down for generations, and enjoyed immensely no matter what time of year (or even what year) it is.
