Opal is having a moment. And it’s not because anything has changed with the luminescent gemstone, it’s because incredibly talented designers are finding new and exciting ways to present it to us. Like these drop earrings from Goshwara: 26.80 cts. t.w. elongated Boulder opals dangle in 18k yellow gold settings, delicately embraced by diamond frames. A geometric arrangement of overlapping lines tops these stunners, and if you look closely, you can almost make out a hashtag. (Chalk it up to hours spent on Twitter, the fact that I look for—or just happen to see—the sign everywhere.) Speaking of Twitter, what better outlet to gauge the industry’s opinion? Here’s a few of my favorite responses when asked about the popularity of opal. And if they’re any indication, I think you’d better stock up on it for the holidays. You can start with these earrings!
