Britt’s Pick: Eduardo Sanchez’s Querencia Coin Ring

I have recently developed an obsession with coin jewelry—it could have something to do with everyone and their mother wearing a coin necklace as of late—so it was an easy draw when I saw this ring from Eduardo Sanchez. The Mexican jeweler, who studied art and jewelry design in Italy, designed his first collection in 2010 with original Latin coins and has been using them since. The Querencia collection—of which this ring is a member— is dedicated to Sanchez’s home country, incorporating Mexican coins. This ring feels like a treasure, with its featured coin surrounded by a whole carat of round, sparkling diamonds, rich in gold and plentiful in size. Though many trendsetters seem to be wearing coins or disc pendants around their necks now, it seems only natural for the round medallions to progress to the hand, the wrist, and perhaps even the ears. And though the style is on the uptick, coin jewelry has always been around, making it an easy sell for a classic, must-have style—and this is just the piece to make that argument with.
