So soothing to look at, aren’t they? From Vivaan, the New York–based jeweler that specializes in turning out gorgeous gems featuring raw, rose-cut, and sliced diamonds, these floral beauties are fit for the belle of the ball and beyond.
There’s something so magical about a briolette—I’m reminded of the (costume) crystals used by my Babci (technically Polish for grandma, but it’s what we called my great-grandmother) to make Christmas ornaments, decorate handbags, and, yes, even make jewelry.
The briolettes here are certainly not ones found in your local craft store, though they were in beautiful abundance. More than 10.5 carats went into making this heavenly pair, arranged into blossoming layers like luminescent wildflowers, aglow with spring dew (and maybe a hint of winter’s frost).
These aren’t particularly suited to the mix-and-match styles popular in today’s market (or, perhaps, one can make it work?)—they’ll fare better on their own. Imagine the impact these would have on the ear, hair brushed back to let them take center stage, maybe a simple black, elegant dress. Have we rounded out our awards season red carpets as of late? Let’s put these down as contenders for September’s Emmy Awards.
And then, of course, there are the upcoming April birthdays, and what a gift these would be. Nothing like telling someone how much you adore them than by gifting them with their birthstone, in eternal flower form, and the sparkliest one at that. These would also be breathtaking on a bride.
Vivaan is no stranger to the flower—the jeweler seems to be partial to it, in fact—though many of its varieties comprise rose-cut and raw diamonds, all spectacularly beautiful as well. This pair is especially enchanting, especially for those who have a thing for briolette gemstones (if they didn’t already, these earrings could be the catalyst to an affinity for the cut).
