Britt’s Pick: Pebble Wrap Bracelet by Anne Sportun

I love this piece. I love it because it combines elements of fine jewelry with exactly the style I prefer in the summer—low-key, easy, none too fussy.

From Anne Sportun, this bracelet is crafted with a long black cord, wound multiple times to achieve a look that has more volume than the traditional bracelet. It’s adorned with a signature element of Sportun’s Wrap collection: textured golden shapes, each dotted with a small, sparkling diamond at their centers—some white, some black.

It’s the kind of design that looks like it was made for swimwear, and it would also look amazing with a summery dress, worn on an evening out. It’s the kind of bracelet that I’d slip on and not take off all season—one that would be my signature accessory during the warm- weather months. It’d be in all of the vacation photos, and I’d look back fondly on them as “the summer of that bracelet” (and I’d keep wearing it after that, obviously).

Sportun’s Wrap collection comprises not only styles like the one pictured, but also bracelets featuring gemstone beads, if your customer is so inclined to dress her summer arms in a bit more color. Each piece is highly wearable, and, according to the designer’s website, are “to be given, received, and worn in thoughtfulness.”

Ann Sportun is a Canadian brand founded by its designer of the same name. The Toronto-born Sportun opened her first atelier in the late 1980’s and has been crafting ever since. From the designer’s website: “My work is a distillation of the world around me—those things that nurture my soul. The tranquility I find in nature feeds a deep creative well from which I can draw. I seek to re-create the subtle dichotomy of nature’s perfect irregularities and honor that every day is precious.”
