There are two distinct sides to my favorite season. One warms you: a colorful harvest, cozy-sweater weather, pumpkins to decorate. The other chills you: Days become shorter and darker, horror marathons take over the TV schedule, pumpkins are carved into jack-o’-lanterns. It’s that mix of sweet and sinister that makes autumn a favorite among many, particularly those of us who start counting the days until the next Halloween the moment it passes. We celebrate October 31 in different ways. Some choose to go the whimsical route, others inspire to terrify. Belle Étoile‘s Royale ring is a beautiful representation of that mix of cheerful darkness. Its blood-red center stone is both bright and maybe just a bit eerie. The Italian enamel that accents its swirling silver pattern is like a mix of leather and lace—sweet and seductive. A CZ border around the center gemstone adds a dash of sparkle for a look that’s eye-catchingly classic. You could really wear this any time of year, but its design is such a good representation of what this season has to offer, it’d be a shame not to sport it now.
