Borsheims CEO Joins Board of Diamond Miner

Along with De Beers, Mountain Province co-owns Gahcho Kué in Canada

Borsheims Fine Jewelry president and CEO Karen Goracke has joined the board of Mountain Province Diamonds, the Canadian diamond miner.

Along with De Beers, Mountain Province co-owns the Gahcho Kué mine in Canada’s Northwest Territories.

Goracke took over the Berkshire Hathaway–owned retailer in 2013. It is based in Omaha, Neb.

“As Mountain Province prepares for its first sale of rough diamonds from the Gahcho Kué mine, we look forward to the contribution Karen will make in helping us understand the dynamics of the world’s largest diamond retail market in the United States,” said Jonathan Comerford, chairman of Mountain Province Diamonds, in a statement.
