On May 22, Bonhams will send a selection of rare colored gemstones and iconic designer pieces to the block during its Hong Kong Jewels and Jadeite sale. Headlining the auction is a ring with a 1.08 ct. fancy vivid pink diamond—internally flawless and exceptionally pure in color—that’s estimated to achieve between $500,000 and $640,000.

Another major highlight is the Kat Florence Lumina (pictured at top), a 181.61 ct. unmounted, untreated paraiba-type tourmaline from Mozambique with a rich greenish-blue hue. Considered one of the finest stones of its kind, the Lumina carries an estimate of $385,000 to $640,000.

Several signature Cartier designs will be in the auction, including a platinum Panthère bracelet adorned with diamonds and buff-top sapphires—the two panther heads have emerald eyes and onyx noses. Bonhams will also offer a rare art deco brooch and a diamond Agrafe demi-parure from Cartier.

The sale also features ruby earrings by Harry Winston, a 7.03 ct. vivid yellow diamond ring, and a black opal and diamond ring by Mikimoto, as well as Colombian emerald earrings, unheated spinels, and a sapphire and garnet necklace by de Grisogono.

In addition to the live auction, Bonhams will hold an online sale May 17–26 offering 126 lots—among them, jadeite and diamond sets, statement earrings, and pieces with strong provenance—from a single Southeast Asian collector.
