
On Nov. 23, Bonhams returns to Hong Kong for Jewels and Jadeite, a sale featuring a tightly curated selection of noteworthy colored gemstones, high-carat diamond jewelry, and signed pieces from heritage jewelers.
Among the top offerings are an unmounted 160.75 ct. paraiba-type tourmaline of blue-green color, estimated at $360,000 to $640,000; a pair of Colombian emerald pendants (pictured at top) weighing 64.37 and 63.19 cts., with an estimate of $230,000 to $450,000; and a Cerrone diamond ring with a 8 ct. faint pink center stone and 2 cts. t.w. shoulders.

Jewels from leading maisons include a Bulgari diamond necklace and earclips set boasting over 69 cts. total (estimate $390,000 to $510,000); a 1920s Marcus & Co. pendant necklace with a 10 ct. octagonal step-cut emerald and 5.85 cts. t.w. old European-cut diamonds ($170,000–$230,000); and a Cartier jadeite, enamel, and onyx pendant necklace from 1925 ($46,000–$77,000).
The auction also offers signed jewels from Van Cleef & Arpels, JAR, Chaumet, and M. Gérard, as well as other prestigious names.

“The forthcoming Hong Kong Jewels and Jadeite sale includes jewelry of exquisite craftsmanship, from art deco designs by Cartier to contemporary designs originating from outstanding private collections,” said Katy Lai, Bonhams’ head of sale and jewelry specialist, in a statement.
“We are honored to present a superb collection of diamonds, emeralds, sapphires and rubies of exceptional quality and size within the sale. The gemstones will offer collectors an opportunity to acquire truly unique pieces.”

Previews for the Jewels and Jadeite sale will take place at Bonhams Hong Kong (50 Queen’s Road E., Wan Chai) from Nov. 18 to 23.
