Bob’s Watches, the e-tailer that specializes in secondhand timepieces, is opening a boutique at Terminal 8 at New York City’s JFK airport.
Originally scheduled to open on Dec. 19, the store will now open on Jan. 12.
This is the company’s fifth retail location. It already has stores in Newport Beach, Calif., and Naples, Fla. It also has two other airport locations, in Las Vegas and Abu Dhabi.
Company CEO Paul Altieri tells JCK that these airport locales are a “great exposure for us and the brand. Some of the terminals get millions of passengers coming in. They’re like 10 Super Bowls at once.”
He adds that the company believes in the power of brick-and-mortar.
“Anytime you can reach customers at a personal level, it’s an opportunity that we want to take advantage of,” he says.
