Blue Nile reported that net sales in the second quarter
increased 9.7 percent to $76.6 million.
However, Blue Nile’s net income totaled $2.8 million, down
1.4 percent from the same period last year. Non-GAAP adjusted EBITDA for the quarter totaled $6.9
million, up slightly from 2009.
The company’s international sales grew 28.2 percent in the
quarter to $9.1 million. Total orders during the quarter increased
approximately 3.5 percent to 39,407.
Within product categories, sales growth during the quarter was strongest
in non-engagement jewelry, including diamond bands, earrings and necklaces.
