Bling Thing: Kim Kardashian Gets an Emerald-Cut Engagement Ring

Keeping up with the Kardashians—Kim, in particular—just got
a little tougher. Enter, her 20.5 ct. engagement ring by Lorraine Schwartz,
recently given to her by beau Kris Humphries.

The ring is platinum, and features a 16.5 ct. emerald-cut
center stone flanked by 2.0 cts. t.w. trapezoid-shape stones; all
diamonds are
colorless. Media reports speculate that the ring set the NBA player
back $2
million.

For the rest of us, there are smaller diamonds that are
beautiful in their own right and just as
much fun to own, particularly when it’s yours—sitting on your
ring finger, given to you by your own loved one. The latter is
what makes the piece special, regardless of price paid.
