The 3 Best-Selling Watches on Crown & Caliber Right Now

Watches from Rolex, Tudor, and Omega top the list of best-selling luxury timepieces on Crown & Caliber, the Atlanta-based e-tailer of pre-owned watches.

Crown & Caliber founder Hamilton Powell tells JCK that all three hot sellers, shown below, “look great dressed up or down, have some personality, and fit well on any wrist—they are classic in their designs and won’t fall out of style.”

Here are the retailer’s best-selling models, in order:

“This watch is having a bit of a moment,” says Nathan Nerswick, a watch specialist at Crown & Caliber. “Rolex is known for their sport models, and this one is rugged and tough and a bit unique. It’s a good entry into the collectible sport models of Rolex without having the same premium as a Daytona or GMT Master II.”

“Tudor is the little brother of Rolex, and this watch is a perfect nod to the Rolex Pepsi at a fraction of the price and it is more available on the market,” says Nerswick. “It’s versatile and looks great with a tee or suit and is great on a nato, leather, or metal band.”

Omega Speedmaster Reduced

“The Speedmaster Reduced is a bit smaller than its Professional sibling, with a reduced case size, making it perfect for smaller wrists,” says Nerswick. “It has an automatic movement as opposed to the manual and comes in at a lower price point, so it’s an ideal first watch.”

Iconic watch brands such as Rolex, Patek Philippe, Omega, and IWC are the backbone of the pre-owned watch retail business. But not every Rolex model, for example, is highly sought after. Watch models flit in and out of style, shifting with fashion’s larger trends.

The big watch auctions, too, can affect which models are trending. Says Powell, “Oftentimes the sale of a high-profile model, like the Paul Newman Daytona, will raise the pricing of similar models. Because these auctions draw attention to these famous watches, it drives the popularity of the models.”

He adds, “If nothing else, we certainly see an increase in the number of people interested in the value they would receive from the sale of their similar model.”
