Floral motifs are ubiquitous this season, both in apparel and in the jewelry chosen to accompany spring fashions. There’s something especially charming about adding a butterfly or two to the mix.
Anticipating spring, these designs made an appearance in fashion editorials late in 2012. The November 2012 issue of Elle combines delicate florals and floaty butterflies, the latter in the form of a butterfly pendant necklace from Nina Ricci.

Vogue magazine’s Style Editor at Large Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis highlights some of her favorite things in the December 2012 issue of the magazine, including a butterfly-bedecked bracelet from Delfina Delettrez.
A current ad from Van Cleef & Arpels spotlights a two-butterfly “between the finger ring” of diamonds and yellow sapphires.

“Welcome to the Hothouse” proclaims the April 2013 issue of Town & Country. “How much flora can bloom under one roof? As many variations as were dreamed up in the spring collections—and that could never be contained in a simple glass vase.” Among the jewel-laden stylings of the issue is this over-the-top look prominently featuring a butterfly brooch from Tatty Devine. The model also wears a Linda Bee necklace, a David Yurman link bracelet, Chanel pearl bracelets, Gillian Horsup earrings, and a second brooch from Faraone Mennella. Her cardigan, dress, and belt are from Bottega Veneta. She wears a Noel Stewart headpiece and Sermoneta gloves and is pictured with a Kurt Geiger clutch.
