Bangkok Fair to Showcase Thai Design

The Thai Gem and Jewelry Traders Association is positioning the Bangkok Gems and Jewelry Fair as a platform for showcasing contemporary masterpieces, avant-garde designs, unique creations, award-winning collections, and spirited object d’ arts. The 42 edition of the show will be held Sept. 11-15.

Visitors will witness several new additions, including the Design Pavilion where talented Thai and international designers unveil their talents and creativity including and put their global award winning pieces on display.

Meanwhile, Hot New Design 2009 Vol.1 competition will include more than 100 entries, while the list of precious jewelry pieces made by Thai manufacturers and destined for TGJ Elite Creations will be extensive, according to BGJF officials.

“Greater emphasis on design serves our objective to turn BGJF as a gallery to witness creativity and new ideas of talented designers in order to create values to visitors and exhibitors to the fair,” said BGJF chief executive Somchai Phornchindarak.

BGJF said it is underscoring design to augment the fair’s theme as the world’s gems and jewelry hub and one of Asia’s premier jewel marketplace.

More than 1,500 exhibitors are expected to be at the fair with more than 30,000 visitors from more than 80 countries are expected to attend.

The BGJF organizers urge visitors to take advantage of the business matching facility at the fair through www.ospgemsjewelry.com.

Pre-registration to the fair at www.bangkokgemsfair.com is opened until Aug. 31.
