Bangkok Fair moves to a larger space

The Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair will move this September to its new location at The Challenger, an 861,120 square-foot exhibition center is located directly across the street from the Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, where the show has been held.

The Thai Gem & Jewelry Traders Association, organizer of the show, said it was compelled to move the show to its new location in order to allow current exhibitors to expand their areas as well as provide much needed space to companies on the waiting list.

“Anybody who has been to the Bangkok fair knows this is the number one show for colored gemstones and leading choice for jewelry manufacturing;” said TGJTA President Pornchai Chuenchomlada. “Due to this great demand, we began making plans for this expansion several years ago to meet the needs of our buyers.”

More than 30,000 buyers are expected to attend the fair, being held Sept. 13-17, for the inauguration of the new hall. The newly expanded exhibition hall will make room for more of the specialty pavilions the Bangkok fair is known for, including the popular Hot Design Pavilion where leading exhibitors unveil their latest achievements.

Shortly before the last Bangkok show the organizers secured the government’s cooperation in providing the Fast Track at the airport for Customs and Immigration, allowing exhibitors and visitors to avoid long lines for processing entry into Thailand. The Fast Track will operate during each upcoming Bangkok Gems & Jewelry Fair covering two weeks before and after the show. In addition to a line-up of internationally renowned speakers at seminars during the five-day show, the organizers will hosts special events including a lavish opening ceremony and welcome party along with special displays of gem and jewelry, fashion shows, live entertainment, and cocktail parties hosted by top organizations and publications in the industry.
