Banda wins DDC election by a landslide

Diamond Dealers Club President Jacob Banda won his reelection bid by a landslide, beating opponent Zvi Farber, the DDC’s former vice president.

Banda, who won his first DDC election by just four votes, received nearly 80% of the votes cast in the recently held election.

“I am deeply honored at the tremendous vote of confidence,” Banda said in a statement.

David Abraham, formerly the club’s secretary, was elected vice president, beating Yeheskel Ramon. The post presides over the club’s arbitration system.

The election for secretary and treasurer may have to be held again because of a mix-up in the ballots.

Elected to the Board of Directors were Carl Edelstein, Eli Gottlieb, David Klein, Paul Morgenstien, Harvey Newman, Sheldon Kwiat, Alan Rehs, Yaron Hahami, Benny Simonov, and Bruno Scarselli.
