Aurora Butterfly of Peace Exhibited

The Aurora Butterfly of Peace diamond collection is now on exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science as part of The Nature of Diamonds. The collection consists of 240 natural color diamonds weighing 167 carats total.

The display was created using pink, violet, gray, and brown diamonds from Australia; purple diamonds from Russia; and blue, green, orange, and yellow diamonds from Africa. It was conceived and designed over a 12-year period by Alan Bronstein.

The Aurora Butterfly of Peace was previously exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution, the Gemological Institute of America Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, and the Royal Ontario Museum. The exihibt is open till Sept. 7, 2009.
