To honor a landmark anniversary, Audemars Piguet has opened “150 Years of Refined Elegance,” an immersive exhibition at AP House Singapore, its boutique located within the historic bar and billiards room at Raffles Hotel. The exhibit highlights the watchmaker’s mastery of miniaturization and the storied evolution of feminine watch design as it traces the Swiss brand’s horological history.
Archival rarities on display include an 18 mm minute-repeating movement from the late 19th century and geometric art deco pieces from the 1920s. A central pillar of the event is the legacy of the Royal Oak watch and its transformation from the 29 mm model designed by Jacqueline Dimier in 1976 to the contemporary 23 mm Royal Oak Mini in frosted gold, which sparkles with a unique, diamond-like texture.
In Audemars Piguet’s 150th anniversary year, technical innovation remains at the forefront with the watchmaker’s debut of 38 mm perpetual calendar models. These timepieces reengineer grand complications for more versatile proportions, utilizing the new calibre 7136 to streamline all calendar adjustments via the crown—a feat of modern micro-engineering.
The exhibition is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. While admission is free, registration via the Audemars Piguet website is required to manage the flow of guests.
This showcase serves as a poetic finale to the company’s sesquicentennial, inviting visitors to experience the precision and craftsmanship that have defined Audemars Piguet from its founding in 1875 to the present day. After touring the gallery, visitors can unwind at the world’s first AP Café, an elegant space that pairs Swiss heritage with local Singaporean culinary influences.
