Audemars, Movado Settle Lawsuit

Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet has settled its suit against the Movado Group and Tommy Hilfiger. The suit, filed Aug. 13, had accused the latter two brands of the “blatant copying” of Audemars’ Royal Oak watch.

Settlement terms were not disclosed.

The dispute centered on Tommy Hilfiger’s Eton watch, which Movado produces under a licensing deal with Hilfiger. Audemars Piguet had argued that the Eton looks “strikingly similar” to its popular Royal Oak.

Movado previously declined comment.
