Aucoin Hart Jewelers and jewelry designers team up to aid women’s cancer research

This holiday season Aucoin Hart Jewelers, Metairie, La., is teaming up with several designers to donate suites of jewelry to the Foundation for the LSU Health Sciences Center benefiting women’s cancer research. The Foundation will be conducting a raffle at $5 per chance through Dec. 14. Tickets available at Aucoin Hart during the shows or online at www.foundation.lsuhsc.edu.

“LSU is a leader in the fight against women’s cancer and we are happy to help,” said Tommy Aucoin, Jr.

In the first of the three holiday events, Aucoin Hart and jewelry designer Penny Preville donated a pair of diamond earrings and a matching pendant valued at $3,700 to the Foundation. Tommy, Jr., and Preville made the presentation to Dr. John Rock of the LSU Health Sciences Center and his wife during the trunk show on Nov. 4.

On Nov. 18, Mikimoto and Aucoin Hart will donate a pair of pearl studs and an 18-inch pearl strand valued at $3,790. Tommy, Jr. and Shannon Drake of Mikimoto will present the pearl set to Rock during a trunk show featuring a couture collection by Giovanna Broggian.

Aucoin Hart will donate a pink tourmaline David Yurman bracelet valued at $3,400 to the Foundation and again Tommy, Jr. will make the presentation to Rock during the trunk show of David Yurman’s newest fall collection featuring South Sea, and Tahitian pearls, along with limited edition couture pieces not available in stores. The date of the event has yet to be announced.

The total value being donated is more than $10,000 with hopes of raising much more. The winner will be announced on December 15. All proceeds will benefit Women’s Cancer Research.
