Jewelry makers
and custom designers attending the AGTA GemFair in February can expect a
variety of live demonstrations from renowned artisans during MJSA’s At the Bench
Live sessions.
The interactive
sessions will run from Feb. 1-6.
Arthur Anton
Skuratowicz, co-author of “Working with Gemstones: A Bench Jeweler’s Guide,”
will present sessions with tips on how to set fancy-shaped and raw gemstones,
finishing and detailing sterling jewelry, and identifying and working with
treated gems.
A two-part
seminar with Lee Krombholz will demonstrate how to create an Edwardian-style
pendant by hand and with CAD. Krombholz will challenge himself to produce a
pendant from sheet stock to produce the lightest-weight piece.
Award-winning
Scottsdale jewelry designer Michael David Sturlin will demonstrate his own
signature crocheting technique, and offer examples of and insights into other
artists’ textile applications
