Astrid & Miyu CEO Connie Nam says her London-based brand is looking forward to expanding its American fan base with its first West Coast store.
The boutique at 1135½ Abbot Kinney Blvd. in Venice, Calif.—which officially opened Tuesday—is Astrid & Miyu’s third U.S. store, joining two New York City locations, in the West Village and on Madison Avenue. The jeweler has more than 25 stores overall, mostly in England, including its Carnaby area flagship, House of Astrid.
Nam, who founded Astrid & Miyu in 2012, says the brand has a global clientele that is attracted to its philosophy and its experiential-focused retail spaces. She chose Los Angeles for the latest store because it is a city that celebrates individuality and self-expression.
“Opening our Abbot Kinney storefront allows us to bring that immersive, community-driven experience to the West Coast, and we’re so excited to continue growing with our U.S. customer base,” Nam says.

Inside the new Venice store, the color palette is centered on sun-kissed neutrals that reflect outdoor hues in and around Venice, says senior global store designer Amelia Berry.
“Our intention throughout our stores is to radiate warmth and a cozy environment, and we’ve tried to pull this through the use of rich brown, soft plaster pinks, and textured accents,” she says.
Berry notes that the company also wanted to keep the mosaic tiling and skylights that had been installed in the space before Astrid & Miyu took it over, for their beauty and charm. Those special elements influenced the boutique’s final design, she says.
“We wanted to design around the existing space rather than mold it to fit us,” says Berry. “We’ve retained the original flooring and the exposed ceilings throughout the space.”

The brand also considered Venice’s natural attributes when selecting materials used in the store’s interior design. “We looked for texture and raw elements through our furnishing items. Having materials such as burr [burl] woods, travertine, rattan, and our iconic tiling features—these have all been influenced by the natural coastline,” Berry says.
In addition to jewelry, the Venice store features Astrid & Miyu’s signature services, such as piercing, permanent jewelry, and fine-line tattoos. Altogether, the new location offers customers something that feels fresh yet specifically connected to Venice.
“We want customers to step into our A&M world with an L.A. twist,” Berry says. “It’s a place to explore and play with the jewelry in an immersive way.”
