ASA Puts Out New Jewelry Appraisal Handbook

Share

The American Society of Appraisers has just put out the 10th edition of its Jewelry Appraisal Handbook.

It’s the handbook’s first update since 2016.

The 2021 edition includes revised and updated chapters on topics like retail markups, conversion charts for weights used in different countries, and information on ASA’s gems and jewelry online resources project.

It also includes new chapters on diamond laser inscriptions, lab-grown diamonds, scales for colored gemstones, opals, major jewelry periods, metals, watches, and the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP).

The latest edition is available in three formats: PDF only, book only, and a book and PDF bundle. The handbook can be ordered here. Additional fees apply for international orders.

The PDF version of the handbook is available to view online. Purchasers will receive an email after their order that includes download instructions, which will include how to set up an account with ASA’s online data service. To maintain security, the email address used for the purchase will appear as a watermark on each page of the handbook.
