Michael P. Sarp, president of the board of Swiss watchmaker Armin Strom AG Manufacture, died Oct. 17 at age 65.
Sarp had been head of the board since 2010. Prior to that, he was CEO of watch company IWC.
“With his death, the world of watchmaking acknowledges the passing of a leading personality who understood the industry particularly well,” said an Armin Strom statement. “The Armin Strom AG team has lost a mentor and someone who was extra special in all of our eyes. We shall remember his radiant capacity to communicate and dialogue with people, his greatest passion. His presence among us over recent years made a decisive impact on the existence of our company.”
