Argyle Reports Strong Demand for Pinks

The results for Rio Tinto‘s 2012 Argyle Pink Diamonds Tender were “exceptional,” according to a company release.

“The collection was keenly contested with the final results demonstrating continued strong price appreciation,” it added.

This year’s Tender, which closed Oct. 15, featured 56 pink diamonds and an additional 19 lots of blue diamonds. All came from Rio Tinto’s Argyle Diamond Mine in Western Australia.

Among the more noteworthy stones offered were the Argyle Siren, a 1.32 ct. Fancy Vivid Purplish Pink diamond-square radiant cut, and the Argyle Satine, a 1.02 ct. Fancy Intense Purplish Pink cushion cut.
