Each year, about 100 jewelry designers participate in the Design Center at the JCK Show ~ Las Vegas. Applications are being accepted and designers and artisans are encouraged to apply by Dec. 15 for the opportunity to be a part of the 2007 event.

“Each year retail buyers shop the Design Center to discover new trends or a one-of-a-kind piece,” said Wendy Osborn, Design Center consultant for JCK Events. “During the jury selection, a group of designers will be chosen to participate in the Design Center. In addition, five ‘Rising Stars’ will be selected; these are designers that will make their fine jewelry trade show debut at the JCK Show.”

Members of the jury, made up of industry members will gather in January 2007. The panel, comprised of designers, retailers, magazine editors, and other trade representatives will take into consideration overall appearance of the line, originality, and salability.

One of the features of the Design Center is “The Designer Retailer Awards” and, which will return for a second year. Fifty retailers will be honored at the JCK Show for their lasting excellence at selling designer jewelry and will be voted on by the members of the Design Center who review the retailer’s ongoing success at marketing, displaying and selling designer jewelry. The top ten retailers will receive special recognition with one retailer receiving the top honor.

The JCK Show ~ Las Vegas 2007 will be held June 1 – June 5, at the Sands Expo & Convention Center, the Venetian Hotel Resort and Casino and for the first time at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
