Apple has extended its corporate trademark to Class 14, the category that includes jewelry and watches—another sign the company plans to introduce a so-called iWatch—according to a report on the site Macrumors.
The company has extended the trademark in several overseas jurisdictions, but not yet in the United States, the site said.
The widely watched site has predicted Apple will release an iWatch, its entry in the smartwatch sweepstakes, later this year.
Earlier this year, The New York Times wrote that the watch could use solar power or another form of wireless charging.
