Antiquorum Opens LA Office

Antiquorum has opened an office in Los Angeles. It is Antiquorum’s second U.S. office, joining its U.S. headquarters in New York City, and is a response to an increase in clientele on the West coast in recent years, a spokesperson for the auction house said.

The California office, said the spokesperson, will enable them to “inquire about auction estimates for timepieces, consign to upcoming auctions, and ask for horological advice from our expert.”

The new office is run by Charles Tearle, a veteran watch expert who joined Antiquorum on Sept. 1. He started his career at Somlo Antiques, a prestigious London vintage watch store, was later a watch specialist at Bonhams London, and in 2006 opened a watch department for Bonhams in the United States. Tearle specializes in wristwatches from the 1920’s to the 1970’s, with a particular interest in Patek Philippe, Rolex sport watches and Cartier. He appears regularly as an expert on the PBS TV series “Antiques Roadshow.”

The LA office is at 468 N. Camden Drive, suite 329, Beverly Hills, Cal. (310) 285-5335.
