The World Jewelry Center’s managing director, Bill Boyajian, has named Alex Angelle as public relations manager for the World Jewelry Center.
Angelle previously served as senior public relations manager for the Gemological Institute of America from 2000 through 2005. In that position, he served as editor of the GIA Insider e-newsletter. He has an extensive background in journalism and public relations, including directing the U.S. Army’s national public relations campaign for recruiting, and later serving as deputy director of media relations on General H. Norman Schwarzkopf’s U.S. Central Command staff during Operation Desert Storm.
Angelle has received numerous awards in journalism and public relations, including a Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America, and several Edward L. Bernays Awards from the San Diego Chapter of PRSA. He has assisted the WJC as a media consultant since November, 2006.
